Local Nuances and Special Situations

  • Vienna Ring Road: A23 (Südosttangente) is one of the busiest motorways; vignette required
  • Brenner Corridor: Heavy goods vehicle restrictions apply on A13 on certain weekends in summer
  • Arlberg Alternative: Arlberg Pass road (B197) is free but closed in winter and much slower
  • Tauern Tunnel: Section toll covers the tunnel portion; surrounding sections need only the vignette
